My name is Mychelle H., and I graduated from California Lutheran University. I have an MS in Applied Statistics. I have been tutoring students from pre-K through college in various subjects for about 15+ years now. I love tutoring because it's great to know that I am positively impacting someone's life and helping them understand difficult concepts while gaining confidence in their abilities! In the past, I have worked with students with and without disabilities, and I understand how to adapt my teaching styles to fit a student's needs. My past experience has taught me patience and how to find different methods to help each student learn. I try to help students understand confusing or difficult topics and connect the lessons back to previous lessons and real-life applications. Tutoring is about getting the student motivated to learn and help them become confident in their ability to succeed. I did not have anyone pushing me to do well in high school, and I finished with a 4.2 weighted GPA. I want other students to be able to push themselves and strive to perform to the best of their ability. Additionally, I have several years of experience working with children, as I was a Girl Scout for 12 years and a Camp Counselor at three Girl Scout camps for 5 years. I am extremely patient, and I love working with children.

I earned Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics at California Lutheran University, and I have tutored in Math, Biology, English, History, Chemistry, time management and several other subjects. I am also fluent in Japanese, as I have been learning the language since the age of five. I have tutoring experience with students with Special Needs, so I am very patient and understand how to adapt my teaching styles to fit the needs of the student.
