I completed my ADN in 2018, graduated with honors and was president of my graduating class, which allowed me the honor of being a key note speaker for my class. I worked at LA County USC and obtained a position as a new graduate RN in the trauma ICU. During this program I was acknowledged as a nurse exemplar and was also allowed the opportunity to speak amongst my graduating class of newly licensed RNs and key stakeholders for the organization. I preempted in my role as an RN in the trauma ICU. I then obtained my BSN in 2019 and My MSN in nursing in 2021. I graduated with an MSN in advanced generalist practitioner. I obtained my certification in 2021 in critical care. This entails taking a nationally recognized proctored exam in the area of critical care with a strong emphasis in hemodynamics.
I have worked at top hospitals including Cedars Sinai, UCI, and USC. I am currently progressing to obtain my post Master's FNP certificate while I still work as a full time RN at Kaiser in the emergency department. My experience includes 6 years of critical care and almost three in the emergency department.
I have worked as a Clinical Professor at Chamberlain University in intermediate and advanced medical surgical rotations. I am still active as a visiting professor where I assist in the skills lab and hold rotations as needed. I have also worked and am still active as an adjunct professor at Cal State San Bernardino. I have taught clinical rotations in public health and have been a simulation lab coordinator.
In tutoring students I like to apply scenarios to real life situations. I go beyond theory and put emphasis in practical ways they will utilize concepts at the bedside to reinforce the material. I have found that emphasizing practical use in scenarios reinforces concepts, so the material doesn't just pile up in their brain. I like connecting the dots with patient presentation, diagnostics, and nursing intervention and desired outcomes.
