I am currently a student at UC Berkeley studying Economics and Cognitive Science, with strong experience mentoring and supporting students in writing, math, and study skills. Over the past several years, I have worked with students of different ages through tutoring, editing, mentorship, and educational programs. I have helped students improve their academic confidence by breaking down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps and adapting my teaching style to each individual student’s needs.
Much of my experience is centered around writing and communication. I served as a Feature Editor, Copy Editor, and Spanish Editor for my school newspaper, where I worked closely with students on brainstorming, essay structure, grammar, and revisions. I also founded a student editing organization that helped hundreds of students strengthen their academic writing and applications. These experiences taught me how to give thoughtful, personalized feedback while making students feel supported throughout the learning process.
In addition to writing, I have strong experience in mathematics, economics, and quantitative coursework through my studies at UC Berkeley. I understand that math can feel overwhelming for many students, so I focus on teaching concepts in a patient, encouraging, and easy-to-understand way rather than relying on memorization. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them build long-term confidence and independence in their learning.
