About Trenton

Bio

I am currently a graduating senior at the University of California, Irvine, where I am completing two degrees in Chemistry and Earth System Science. I was awarded the Regents Scholar distinction, which reflects my academic commitment, but more importantly my ability to stay curious and persistent through challenging material. As a student myself, I understand what it feels like to work through difficult subjects and the pressure that can come with them.

I have over two years of tutoring experience working with high school students in AP, general, and Inorganic Chemistry, Algebra I, II, and III, Precalculus, and Calculus, as well as AP and general Classical Newtonian Physics. Most of my tutoring has been one-on-one or small groups in a classroom setting, allowing me to tailor each session to the student’s needs, pace, and learning style. I focus on breaking concepts down into manageable pieces, using clear explanations and practical examples rather than memorization, especially in regard to more analytical or physical subjects like chemistry and physics. My goal is not just to help student's complete assignments, but to help them understand the “why” behind the material.

What excites me most about tutoring is helping reduce the stress and worry students often associate with subjects they find difficult. I have seen firsthand how confidence and understanding go hand in hand, and how grades tend to improve once students feel less intimidated by the material. I strongly believe that every student learns differently, including myself, and I am always open to adjusting my teaching approach to find what works best for each individual.
