I have experience teaching high school English as well as AP Language and Composition. I can work with students to perfect their writing, work on their organization in essays, hone their grammar and syntax, as well as develop strong thesis statements. In general, I am able to work with students on a variety of English assignments beyond essay writing such as: literature and poetry dissection and analysis, annotation and note-taking skills, vocabulary development, paraphrasing and summarization skills, citation skills, and more.
For tutoring in History:
I have experience teaching US History with and without an Ethnic Studies focus as well as AP US History and IB History of the Americas (a world history course). I am well versed in research skills and writing and can help students with all steps of the writing process from research through to final drafting and citations. I am well versed in explaining the difference between English style essay writing and History essay writing to aid students in achieving high scores on both class assignments and exams. Furthermore, I can tutor both content and skill related content for History.
