I am a California credentialed mathematics teacher with over 12 years of classroom experience and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught middle school mathematics in a public school setting, worked as a private tutor since 2006, and have experience helping students in grades 3–12 build confidence and improve their mathematical understanding. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of all ability levels, including those who need intervention, English learners, and students seeking enrichment. My goal is to help every student understand the "why" behind the math, rather than simply memorizing procedures.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I begin by identifying each student's strengths and areas for growth, then create lessons that are engaging, interactive, and tailored to their learning style. I use real-world examples, guided practice, visual models, and step-by-step instruction to make challenging concepts easier to understand. I also believe that building confidence is just as important as teaching content, so I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an exam, completing homework, or getting ahead, I am committed to helping them reach their goals. I enjoy making math less intimidating and showing students that, with the right support and strategies, they can be successful and even enjoy learning mathematics.
