As a current medical student with a strong background in teaching and academic mentorship, I bring over five years of experience supporting students in the sciences, fostering confidence, and helping them achieve meaningful academic growth.
My teaching experience began at Fresno Pacific University, where I served as a Biology Tutor, Supplementary Instructor, and Laboratory Teaching Assistant. In these roles, I guided undergraduate students through challenging material, developed review sessions, and learned how to adapt my approach to meet individual learning needs. I also earned a Level 2 International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC), which enhanced my ability to build rapport, promote self-directed learning, and encourage curiosity beyond the classroom.
Currently, as a Medical School Peer Tutor, I coach medical students in understanding medical pathophysiology, pharmacology, and diagnostic reasoning. Working one-on-one and in small groups has strengthened my ability to simplify complex concepts while maintaining academic rigor—skills that I believe align perfectly to make learning engaging and accessible.
What draws me to tutoring students is the opportunity to continue helping them reach their potential, not only by improving their grades but also by instilling confidence and critical thinking skills. I find great fulfillment in seeing students connect ideas, overcome challenges, and realize that learning is a process they can master with the right guidance.
