Need help with writing, reading, or English? Hi, my name is Caitlin, and I graduated summa cum laude (3.9 GPA) with a B.A. in writing.

Regarding writing experience, I wrote eight articles for Fastweb as a student contributor, proofread for a local union newsletter, wrote articles that were published in my university’s newspaper, interned for six months at a small publishing company, and completed a creative writing and art project for my university's Honors Scholars program. I also have over a year's worth of teaching experience. I lead high school students as a yearbook advisor; this past year, I created class outlines with Word, gave assignments on ClickUp, and made a habit of responding to students’ questions in a detailed and timely manner. As an advisor, I work to understand my students individually and guide them with written/planned expectations and verbal encouragement. I additionally teach students in a local art studio, guiding these students one-on-one. In 2021-2022, I volunteered bi-weekly, teaching elementary school students about music theory and history.

I’m thankful for my own teachers and professors who empowered me to grapple with English, reading, writing, and other creative work. Today, I carry on the torch of teaching and hope to impact students like my mentors impacted me: through organization, patience, understanding, and motivation. In teaching and tutoring, my desire is to meet every student where they’re at through creating clear expectations, giving encouragement and concrete ways to improve, and answering questions—yes, please bring me your questions! My hope is to help students grow in various subjects, and in doing so, grow in their understanding of the world at large. Let’s ask questions. Let’s learn to fail but then learn to fly.

I welcome resources and suggestions from parents and students. Please feel free to reach out to schedule lessons or simply ask questions! I aim to respond in a timely manner.
