With a decade of teaching experience spanning three continents, I am a California-certified educator dedicated to helping students bridge the gap between academic rigor and personal confidence. My background includes a Master’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature and a Bachelor’s in Hispanic Studies, and I have further specialized my craft through extensive coursework in second language acquisition and modern educational practices. From instructing undergraduate students at the University of Colorado to guiding high schoolers through advanced AP curricula and working with young learners internationally, my journey has shaped me into a versatile mentor who understands the unique hurdles students face at every level.
I believe that the most significant academic growth happens in a supportive, student-centered environment. In my sessions, I use a communicative approach to translate complex linguistic concepts into practical, everyday fluency. I take pride in "curating" my materials—adapting advanced AP or IB standards into engaging, manageable plans that honor each student's specific pace and goals. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that language is a tool for global citizenship, and I work diligently to ensure my students feel respected, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
Beyond the curriculum, I bring an organized and communicative energy to every partnership. I find that checking in on goals with both students and parents early on ensures our roadmap is perfectly aligned with their long-term vision for success. My experience as a program coordinator and department leader allows me to manage the logistics and technology of a session seamlessly, so our time remains focused on the learning at hand. When I am not helping students master a new concept, I stay active through knitting, hiking, and climbing—hobbies that remind me of the patience and persistence required to reach any new summit, whether on a mountain or in the classroom.
