Hi, I'm Rachel! I'm a Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Tau Delta member. I graduated from Southwestern College with a 4.0 GPA and an Associate's degree in English. I took college courses in Introduction to Literature and Children's, American, and British Literature and received A's on the essays I wrote. I am currently earning my bachelor's degree. My professors said that I demonstrate graduate-level scholarship when I write nuanced and well-written arguments that demonstrate my knowledge of the text and the larger connections made from the lessons in the text. During the last two semesters of these class writing workshops, I used a rubric checklist to see if the student had an effective thesis, textual evidence, and organization and if the student responded to the prompt. As a tutor, I will give helpful feedback on how students can strengthen their arguments and provide suggestions using a rubric checklist. For students to grow as writers, I not only offer suggestions but also praise what they did well to boost their confidence.

I can work with students from elementary to college level. By working one-on-one, the student will send me the first draft of their essay, information on what their teacher expects, their class rubric, what areas the student wants me to focus on, and other information. The student should send me their essay at least 2 days before our online meeting, so I have time to read it before meeting the student virtually. If the essay is due today, send it to me at least 2 hours before our meeting. At our meeting, I will show the student my feedback, and the student will ask me questions. It is the student's responsibility to give me a cancellation notice within 2 hours.

I want to provide excellent service to the students I work with and help them become better writers to the best of my ability. Feel free to contact me with additional questions or to schedule an online meeting with your essay attached.

A Truly Wonderful Tutor for My Son

Rachel has been such a blessing for my 10-year-old son, Ethan. She has a special way of guiding him through tough essay topics with patience and encouragement, making the process much less stressful. She’s very well-read, genuinely cares about his progress, and always takes her role seriously. As a parent, it gives me so much peace of mind knowing Ethan is learning and growing under her guidance.

Thoughtful and Helpful Tutor

Rachel is an amazing tutor! She helped me edit my research paper, and her feedback on my project was constructive. I liked that she took the time to proofread and study my work before our session. She even did extra research to understand the background of my project ahead of time. Thank you, Rachel, for your dedication and support. It truly made a difference.

Very Knowledgeable and very thorough.

My daughter had her first research paper to complete as a freshman in high school. Rachel was familiar with the topic and article's my daughter provided. Rachel ask for my daughter instructions ahead of the tutoring and from there she had a thorough plan to help my daughter, organized her ideas, format her paper and help it sound like my daughter. It was a very detailed and structured research paper. My daughter says she is patient and kind. We are grateful. My daughter had her first research paper to complete as a freshman in high school.
