Dear Students,

My name is Adriana Cerda and I am currently a Second Grade teacher in the Chula Vista Elementary School District. I teach all subjects in Spanish but can also teach in English. This year is my 8th year teaching in the classroom; however, I have substituted and worked as a tutor teaching all grade level, K-8th. I have tutored students and supported them with reading, math, writing, grammar, and even Spanish. I have developed and implemented engaging, effective lessons aligned with the Common Core State Standards.

My passion is teaching, learning from my students, and delivering amazing lessons to help students become better test takers, readers, mathematicians, writers, speakers, and humans. I would like to have a job as a tutor, remotely, where I can utilize my strong subject knowledge, behavior management skills, and teaching experience to help you succeed academically. As a teacher, I have spare time to tutor in the afternoons and even weekends.

Before earning a Master Degree in Reading and and a Bilingual Teaching Credential, I tutored for 3 years at a Charter School in Chula Vista. My favorite subject to tutor is Math and Reading. I was also an instructional aid for 3 years and planned and delivered small group instruction to students who had individual education plans and/or lessons had to be differentiated to help them meet their learning goals and support them with test preparation.

I feel comfortable using virtual tools such as videos, conferencing, interactive whiteboards, and online resources to facilitate student engagement and collaboration.
