I have been privately tutoring for several years. I graduated from UCLA in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. I received my PhD in Education in 2015. I have been working as a substitute teacher and education researcher while attending school. My specialties for tutoring are Spanish, reading/writing and all subjects K-5. I have also been a teacher's assistant for various elementary schools and tutoring companies. I have also worked at a reading clinic and worked one on one with students with various learning difficulties. Additionally, I have worked at summer camps and taught children's fitness classes. I have a lot of experience with kids and I consider teaching my passion.

Christy is my 9 and 12 year old kids' math and Spanish tutor. My kids look forward to the time she comes to the house, she's unique as she makes the subject very enjoyable esp. Spanish session. She's so patient and really knows her subjects. This is the first time I hired a tutor for summer for my kids and I'm lucky I picked the right one!
Christy is great, we moved to Placentia and it was too far for Christy to drive. We will miss her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
