Hi I'm Shaina! I am currently a second-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at Western University of Health Sciences. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2025. Through my undergraduate and graduate education, I have developed a strong foundation in the sciences and have especially enjoyed helping others understand material that initially feels difficult or overwhelming.
My experience includes two years as a student assistant for the Motor Learning and Motor Control course at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where I assisted the professor with grading and helped students with their understanding. I have also frequently helped classmates work through challenging material and develop a better understanding of course concepts.
I tutor students of all ages, from elementary school through college, and tailor the subjects I offer to each student's needs. For elementary students, I provide general academic and homework support. For middle and high school students, I offer biology, anatomy, psychology, physiology, and study skills. For college students, I tutor anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, psychology, exercise physiology, and research methods. My approach is personalized and focused on breaking complex concepts into manageable pieces. I want students to understand why something works rather than simply memorizing an answer, while building confidence and study skills along the way.
