I teach English to adults who need it for real life — job interviews, business meetings, passing exams, not sounding like a robot when they talk to colleagues.

I teach English to adults who need it for real life — job interviews, business meetings, passing exams, not sounding like a robot when they talk to colleagues.

I'm CELTA-certified and bilingual (English/Spanish). Before teaching, I spent 13 years in healthcare, which taught me how to explain complex ideas clearly and coach people through high-pressure communication situations. Now I do the same thing with English learners — break down confusing grammar, fix pronunciation issues that actually matter, and build lessons around what you're trying to accomplish, not what a textbook says you should learn.

I've worked with students from Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, and Spain. Different languages, same frustrations with English grammar. I get it. Articles make no sense. Phrasal verbs are a nightmare. Pronunciation feels like guessing. But it's all learnable, and I'm good at making it make sense.

Here's how I work: We figure out your actual goal — acing TOEFL or IELTS, improving conversational fluency, writing clearer emails, prepping for a presentation — and I build lessons around that. No generic textbook units. No boring drills. We use real materials (articles, videos, podcasts), practice real scenarios, and fix the mistakes that hurt your communication. If you're a Spanish speaker, I'll occasionally drop into Spanish to explain why English does something truly bizarre, but lessons stay in English. Immersion works.

I don't do participation trophies. If something's wrong, I'll tell you and show you how to fix it. If it's right, I'll tell you that too. You'll leave every lesson knowing exactly what to work on next.

BA in Communications from Cal State Fullerton. CELTA from Cambridge in 2026. Let's skip the awkward small talk and get you speaking English like you actually know what you're doing.

Approved Subjects

Dentistry

Dentistry

I'm a licensed dental hygienist with 13 years of clinical experience in multi-specialty practices across California. I hold a CELTA certification in English language teaching and specialize in training international dental professionals on clinical communication, patient education, and U.S. licensure exam preparation. I've worked with dentists, hygienists, and dental students from Asia, Latin America, and Europe preparing for CAAPID applications, INBDE, and clinical rotations in American dental programs.
Fitness

Fitness

I've coached high school mountain biking at Claremont High School and train riders for technical enduro and downhill performance. My approach focuses on power output, core stability, and bike-body coordination on difficult terrain — double-diamond descents, rock gardens, steep chutes. I design sport-specific conditioning programs that build explosive strength, reactive balance, and crash recovery skills so you ride faster and stay safer when the trail gets ugly.
IELTS

IELTS

I'm a CELTA-certified English teacher specializing in IELTS preparation across all four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. I've trained test-takers from Asia, Latin America, and Europe aiming for band scores 6.5–8.5 for university admissions, professional licensing, and immigration requirements. My approach focuses on test strategy, error pattern analysis, and timed practice under real exam conditions so you walk in confident and score what you actually need.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I coach professionals through high-stakes job interviews using structured practice, behavioral question frameworks, and real-time feedback. I've worked with clients in healthcare, tech, and corporate fields preparing for panel interviews, technical screenings, and career transitions. My background includes 13 years in professional communication settings, so I know what hiring managers actually listen for. We drill your answers, fix filler words, and build delivery confidence so you sound competent, not rehearsed.
Swimming

Swimming

I swam competitively for nine years (three years pre-high school, four years high school, two years collegiate) and have completed over 30 triathlons since, including multiple Half Ironman and Olympic-distance races. I specialize in open water swimming technique, sighting strategies, race-day pacing, and building endurance for long-course events. Whether you're training for your first triathlon or refining stroke efficiency for open water competitions, I focus on what actually makes you faster when there's no lane line to follow.
