Over the last 4 years, I have been teaching mostly high school math--either at home or at a nearby SAT tutor school. I have taught geometry, algebra 1 & 2, trigonometry, AP Calculus AB, and the math portions of the SAT & ACT. Most of my students were 9th to 12th graders. And I am a full time tutor.
I was an IT person and have experience as a programmer on HP mainframe. I taught trigonometry class as an instructor at a college in Taiwan, where I earned a certificate.
Teaching is one of my passions. I like teaching math especially one to one tutoring, so I know my students well. Since math needs a lot of practicing, I encourage students to do more exercises at some fields, which are unfamiliar to them.
Some of my students have worked with me for over a year. I like to teach them how to use graphing calculators, which is a must for students planning to major in science or engineering. And some students like to learn how to write simply programs on calculators.
I teach Geometry, Algebra 1 & 2, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus for more than 4 years. So, I can explain some SAT and ACT questions in detail/fundamentals. I have an instructor certificate of Taiwan.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught one year for Integrated Math 2--a common core textbook from McGraw Hill. Two of my tutor students got A's and one got B. Right now, I am tutoring Integrated Mathematics 2, volume 1--a common core textbook from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
Plus, I am tutoring Integrated Math 3 from McGraw Hill for 2 high school students now.
I have studied calculus in college. I have tutored 2 different students in AP Calculus AB in different years (2014-2015 and 2015-2016). I majored in Computer Science in college of Oklahoma. On May 5, 2016, my tutoring student, who is an honor student, just took an AP test and had the confidence to improve by 5 points.
I have been teaching geometry for four years.
I have been teaching preparation for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT at a private school in Chino Hills and at my home for the last four years. During this time I have tutored and taught classes in Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, PreCalculus, and Calculus AB.
I have a firm understanding of these subjects and can give clear instruction in depth . I feel I can guide students to a sound footing in these subjects, so that they should do well in furtherance of their goals.
