Hello students and parents!
I am a recent graduate from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with a degree in art and English. My specialty in art is additive sculpture, especially using polymer clay (Super Sculpey, etc), but I am also proficient in drawing (pen, charcoal, pencil, etc) and painting (oil and acrylic). I am familiar with a wide variety of genres, including fantasy, surrealism, abstract art, realism, portraiture, and landscape. Additionally, I have knowledge of general art principles and theories, and can even aid in developing technical skills and styles (something many university art programs refuse to do!).
In English, I have an eclectic background in Western literary studies (both classical and modern), and can help students when writing research papers or short essays. I also have experience in creative writing, and can aid with the process of developing characters, atmosphere, and narrative arcs. I am an avid reader of fantasy and other speculative fiction works, and can offer a lot of insight to aspiring writers.
I prefer to meet with students in person, but I am also willing to use Skype for longer distances, provided that the material or subject is suitable and accessible.
Thanks for reading!
