I'm an experienced tutor and mathematician, with a passion for breaking down complex concepts into intuitive pieces according to each student's unique needs and background. I have experience tutoring across varying age groups and fields of math: In 2025, I obtained an undergraduate degree in mathematics from San Francisco State University, and I have conducted mathematics research in algebraic and analytic topics at Central Washington University and California State University, Chico. I tutored college-level math (including Pre-Calculus, Business Calculus, Calculus I, II, & III, Linear Algebra, and Real Analysis) from 2023-2025 at San Francisco State University, in addition to working as a selected class tutor for Pre-Calculus at Santa Barbara City College. I have also enjoyed teaching younger age groups as a summer program instructor at Francisco Middle School, as well as three years of volunteer tutoring with School on Wheels, where I tutored children ages 7-12.

My tutoring approach centers around accessibility, understanding, and meeting students where they are. I believe that effective tutoring starts with listening to students, recognizing their individual strengths, and identifying any gaps in their understanding. From there, I focus on building a strong foundation by approaching concepts in ways that make sense to each student, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method. My goal is to help students develop not only their mathematical skills, but also their confidence and ability to think through problems independently. I want students to walk away with a deeper understanding of why the math works, not just how to get the right answer.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

As a graduate student in mathematics, I have a strong foundation in algebra and a deep understanding of its underlying concepts. My expertise spans the full Algebra 1 curriculum, including linear equations and inequalities, graphing functions, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, factoring, quadratic equations, and word problems. My approach focuses on meeting students where they are, identifying gaps in understanding, and building on their existing strengths. I emphasize mathematical intuition and helping students understand why concepts work, rather than simply memorizing formulas and procedures.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

As a graduate student in mathematics, I have a strong foundation in algebra and a deep understanding of its underlying concepts. My expertise spans the Algebra 2 curriculum, including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions, complex numbers, quadratic equations, systems of equations, sequences and series, and introductory trigonometry. My approach focuses on meeting students where they are, identifying gaps in understanding, and strengthening the foundational skills needed to tackle more advanced topics. I emphasize mathematical intuition and helping students understand why concepts work, rather than simply memorizing formulas and procedures.
Calculus

Calculus

As a graduate student in mathematics, I have a strong foundation in calculus and a deep understanding of its underlying concepts. My expertise spans the calculus curriculum, including limits and continuity, derivatives and their applications, related rates, optimization, implicit differentiation, integrals and their applications, techniques of integration, sequences and series, and introductory differential equations. My approach focuses on meeting students where they are, identifying gaps in understanding, and strengthening the algebraic and conceptual foundations needed to succeed in calculus. I emphasize mathematical intuition and helping students understand why concepts and techniques work, rather than simply memorizing formulas and procedures.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

As a graduate student in mathematics, I have a strong foundation in algebra and a deep understanding of its fundamental concepts. My expertise spans the prealgebra curriculum, including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios and proportions, integers and negative numbers, order of operations, exponents and square roots, simplifying algebraic expressions, solving basic equations and inequalities, and introductory graphing and coordinate geometry. My approach focuses on meeting students where they are, identifying gaps in understanding, and strengthening the arithmetic and conceptual foundations needed to succeed in algebra and more advanced mathematics. I emphasize mathematical intuition and helping students understand why concepts and techniques work, rather than simply memorizing formulas and procedures.
Precalculus

Precalculus

As a graduate student in mathematics, I have a deep understanding of the concepts underlying precalculus. My expertise spans the precalculus curriculum, including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions, function transformations and compositions, trigonometric functions and identities, inverse functions, complex numbers, conic sections, sequences and series, and introductory limits.
