I'm an experienced tutor and mathematician, with a passion for breaking down complex concepts into intuitive pieces according to each student's unique needs and background. I have experience tutoring across varying age groups and fields of math: In 2025, I obtained an undergraduate degree in mathematics from San Francisco State University, and I have conducted mathematics research in algebraic and analytic topics at Central Washington University and California State University, Chico. I tutored college-level math (including Pre-Calculus, Business Calculus, Calculus I, II, & III, Linear Algebra, and Real Analysis) from 2023-2025 at San Francisco State University, in addition to working as a selected class tutor for Pre-Calculus at Santa Barbara City College. I have also enjoyed teaching younger age groups as a summer program instructor at Francisco Middle School, as well as three years of volunteer tutoring with School on Wheels, where I tutored children ages 7-12.
My tutoring approach centers around accessibility, understanding, and meeting students where they are. I believe that effective tutoring starts with listening to students, recognizing their individual strengths, and identifying any gaps in their understanding. From there, I focus on building a strong foundation by approaching concepts in ways that make sense to each student, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method. My goal is to help students develop not only their mathematical skills, but also their confidence and ability to think through problems independently. I want students to walk away with a deeper understanding of why the math works, not just how to get the right answer.
