I hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry. May PhD thesis focused on using genome editing technologies to understand disease phenotypes. I currently serve as a full-time, tenure-track chemistry professor. I teach General Chemistry, including courses for both majors and non-majors, and have received multiple teaching recognitions for my effectiveness in the classroom. My academic background has given me a strong foundation across core areas of chemistry, including stoichiometry, thermochemistry, atomic structure, and molecular bonding.

I have approximately two years of full-time teaching experience at the college level, in addition to prior instructional and mentoring experience during my graduate studies. My teaching has primarily been in a classroom setting, but I regularly work with students one-on-one during office hours, where I provide individualized support tailored to each student’s learning style and pace.

My approach to tutoring focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while emphasizing conceptual understanding rather than memorization. I guide students through problem-solving strategies so they can independently approach new questions with confidence. I also prioritize identifying common misconceptions early and reinforcing foundational skills, which is especially important in subjects like stoichiometry and chemical reasoning.

I have experience working with a diverse range of students, including first-generation college students and those who may initially feel less confident in STEM subjects. My goal is to create a supportive, structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can build both competence and confidence in chemistry.
