Hello,
My name is Blair, and I am a rising senior at Stanford University, majoring in Human Biology (on the premed track). I graduated high school from the International School of Brussels in 2023, receiving both an American diploma and an International Baccalaureate one. I also attended the Anglo-American School of Moscow, and Singapore American School. My academic strengths include math, biology and human physiology, and English.
Most of my tutoring experience comes from a free tutoring program I founded for my neighborhood community in 11th grade. I recruited tutors, experimented with organizational designs to ensure long-term success, and established feedback sessions to constantly improve the methods and structure. I personally tutored several students from K-12 in math, in addition to a US Army Marine pursuing higher education. With this program, I’ve grown comfortable adjusting my teaching styles to different age groups and approaches to learning.
Additionally, I taught private piano lessons to elementary and middle school students throughout high school. My musical education for them included musical theory, ear training, rhythm analysis, and sight reading, in addition to standard keyboard skills.
Lastly, I tutored through one of my school’s National Honor Society, focusing on SAT prep and middle school science. Throughout these experiences, I’ve grown confident in my ability to support students in their journey, whether guiding them through their classes, or creating and executing my own syllabi.
My approaches to teaching include ensuring that each of my students is challenged, and have goals they want to achieve, maintaining their self-confidence and satisfaction along the way. I tend to be warm and bubbly and focus around the love of learning in addition to digesting skills and content.
I look forward to meeting you,
Blair
