Hi, my name is Malcolm. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Public Policy and Psychology. I have also completed an accelerated graduate program with my master's degree in Public Policy Analysis.
In middle school, I realized that one of the most significant barriers to other students learning relevant subject material was the lack of empathy built into the teaching style of some teachers and their inability to adapt to the unique learning style of each student. Since then, I have taught elementary, middle school, high school, undergraduate, professional, and graduate students of diverse backgrounds in Math, English, and Social Science subjects. For example, I have over five years of private tutoring experience in Algebra 1 and 2, working with middle and high school students to complete homework assignments, improve test scores, and increase class grades in one-on-one tutoring sessions. Further, considering that I have served as an instructional assistant in AP Statistics classes and completed a rigorous Public Policy Analysis graduate program, I have a breadth of academic and experiential tutoring knowledge in subjects like Calculus, Statistics, and Government.
As an experienced one-on-one tutor of my peers and clients, I have designed a curriculum that caters to the immediate academic needs of the student, setting them up with a foundation of study habits and skills they can use beyond tutoring. Hence, while my methodology will look different depending on the student and subject material, I always strive to instill constructive critical thinking skills in each individual I tutor.
With that said, I want to be a quality resource for any student seeking advice on a given subject, so I welcome feedback from students and parents. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions or want to schedule lessons!
