If you are looking for more than just homework help—and want your child to become more focused, disciplined, and confident in how they approach school—you are in the right place.

I am a graduate of the University of Southern California and have worked with students from elementary through adult levels, providing both academic tutoring and performance coaching. My goal is to help students not only understand the material, but also develop the habits and mindset needed for long-term success.

Most students don’t struggle because they lack ability. They struggle because they don’t yet have a clear system, consistent study habits, or the ability to stay focused. In our sessions, I help students strengthen their understanding while also improving how they manage their time, attention, and approach to learning.

My approach is informed by my background in social psychology, childhood development, and general education, allowing me to adapt to each student and create an effective, personalized learning experience.

Because I have worked across multiple age groups, I understand how students develop over time. Younger students build strong foundations and focus habits, while older students develop structure, accountability, independence, and higher-level thinking.

This approach combines traditional tutoring with performance coaching. Students learn how to stay focused, manage distractions, approach work strategically, and take ownership of their progress.

I have taught across multiple grade levels in ABC Unified and Walnut Valley Unified School Districts and have mentored university organizations at USC, Cal State Fullerton, and UC Irvine. I have also passed the CBEST requirement for teacher certification in California.

If you are looking for a structured, results-driven approach to help your student perform at a higher level, I would be happy to connect.

Approved Subjects

Composition (Music)

Composition (Music)

I am an active composer/music producer/DJ, and I have recorded and released various albums, EPs, and singles throughout my career as a musician/music producer. I have also been teaching songwriting and music production for many years. I have studied music formally at the School of Music at the University of Southern California (USC) which has given me skills that I apply to creating and teaching music in the Electronic Music, EDM, DnB, Pop, and Hip-Hop genres using modern technology that can be done in the comfort of your own home studio.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have worked in the public school system in the ABC District with elementary school students. I have also been tutoring students for over 15 years that include elementary students. And I have a California Commission Teaching Permit.
English

English

I provide instruction in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and test preparation (SAT/ACT/ISEE). Beyond improving academic performance, I help students develop focus, organization, and effective study habits so they can approach their work with confidence and consistency. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to build strong communication and thinking skills that support long-term success.
ESL/ESOL

ESL/ESOL

I help students improve speaking, reading, and overall confidence in English through structured, conversational, and practical practice. Sessions focus on clear communication, vocabulary development, and real-world usage so students can use English more naturally and effectively. I also help students build consistency and reduce hesitation, allowing them to speak with greater clarity and confidence over time. This approach is especially helpful for students who understand English but struggle to use it comfortably in everyday or academic situations.
Grammar

Grammar

I help students improve grammar, sentence structure, and overall writing clarity. Many students lose points due to common grammar mistakes or lack of understanding of rules, so I focus on building accuracy and consistency. I teach students how to identify and correct errors, apply grammar rules effectively, and write with greater confidence. This leads to stronger performance in both school assignments and standardized tests.
ISEE

ISEE

With over 20 years of teaching English writing, reading, grammar, and vocabulary in the private and public educational systems, I have acquired profound experience and knowledge of what it takes for my ISEE students to excel in the ENGLISH portion of the ISEE test. I use a combination of tools like worksheets that address areas that need improvement, ISEE practice tests, and quiz/game style apps to maximize learning and retention.
Music Production

Music Production

I am a music producer, songwriter, DJ, and educator with over 20 years of experience creating, performing, and teaching across multiple genres. I help students develop both technical skills and creative confidence using industry-standard tools and real-world workflows. My foundation began with vinyl DJing on Technics turntables and evolved into digital performance using professional controllers and mixers such as the Pioneer S9 and REV5. From there, I expanded into full-scale music production, songwriting, and artist development. I have recorded and released multiple albums, EPs, and singles for both myself and other artists. My studies at the University of Southern California’s School of Music allow me to bridge traditional musicianship with modern production techniques and creative technology. In lessons, students learn how to: compose, arrange, and structure tracks across modern genres, produce, mix, and master using Cubase Pro, design sounds, build beats, and layer elements effectively, and develop workflow, creativity, and a unique artistic identity. I incorporate industry-standard tools including iZotope, Universal Audio, Waves, and Native Instruments to give students real-world production experience. For DJ students, I provide hands-on training with turntables, controllers, and mixers, along with software such as Serato and Rekordbox. Students learn: beatmatching and transitions, live mixing and performance techniques, track selection, set building, and crowd reading, and how to integrate original productions into live sets. My approach combines technical precision with creative mentorship. I work best with students who are serious about improving their craft and developing their own sound. Whether you are just starting or looking to refine your skills, I will guide you step-by-step in producing and performing music that is polished, original, and true to your artistic vision.
Reading

Reading

I help students improve reading comprehension, focus, and overall confidence when working with texts. Many students struggle not because of ability, but because they lose focus or rush through material, which leads to missed details and frustration. I teach students how to slow down, process information more effectively, and engage with what they are reading. Over time, students become more accurate, more confident, and more independent in how they approach reading tasks across subjects.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I help students improve SAT Reading performance by strengthening comprehension, accuracy, and test-taking strategy. Many students struggle not because of ability, but because they rush, lose focus, or misinterpret passages under time pressure. I teach students how to read more effectively, identify key information, and approach questions with a clear strategy. Over time, students become more accurate, more confident, and better able to manage timing and pressure on the exam.
SAT Writing

SAT Writing

I help students improve SAT Writing performance by strengthening grammar, clarity, and test-taking strategy. Many students lose points due to common errors or rushing through questions, so I focus on building accuracy, consistency, and a clear approach to each question type. Students learn how to identify mistakes quickly, apply grammar rules effectively, and manage timing under pressure. Over time, they become more confident and consistent, leading to stronger performance and higher scores.
Songwriting

Songwriting

I am a professional musician as well as an active composer/music producer/DJ. Knowledgable and Talented

I was looking for production classes because although I had the desire I had no idea where to start or how to start. I wanted to learn how to use the softwares and also wanted to learn about the science/business part. Jesse teaches in a way where you can personally experience and do it yourself which makes it even more fun rather than just studying and getting lectured. I highly recommend Jesse if you want to learn production! I feel my eyes and brain opening more and more while having fun too!

Prepared and patient!

Jesse is a patient and well-prepared tutor. He communicated with me the first class in order to find a best way for me to approach my problems from SAT. Also, he explains everything clearly and I learned a lot. I believe that my SAT score will be improved eventually by tutoring with him.

Very knowledgeable on the program that I am wanting to learn about.

I learned how to add a reverb bus and the pros and cons. I learned how to apply and work with the pitch control on vocal tracks and setting up plug ins. Looking forward to exploring drum tracks and midi.
