Hi, I'm Christopher. I’m a freshman at Brown University studying Electrical Engineering with a passion for helping students learn and grow. I also graduated from Whitney High School in Cerritos as valedictorian. Whether you're struggling with a tough chemistry unit, prepping for the SAT or ACT, or just trying to stay organized across your classes, I'd love to give you the support that helps you get there. I work primarily with middle and high school students across a wide range of academic subjects, with particular strengths in chemistry, math, and test prep.
I also have experience helping students organize STEM volunteering and science outreach initiatives, which can be a great asset for students building their extracurricular profiles. My approach to teaching is student-centered. I focus on building understanding and problem-solving skills rather than just drilling answers, and I always try to meet students where they are and adapt to how they learn best.
My qualifications come from both strong personal academic achievement and real hands-on teaching experience. In high school, I earned 5s on the AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, and AP U.S. History exams, and scored a 35 on the ACT and a 1480 on the PSAT, so I know these tests and curricula inside and out. Beyond my own academics, I served as a peer tutor in chemistry throughout high school and as a teaching assistant at a Chinese-language summer camp, and I currently am a peer mentor at Brown. If you're also navigating the college application process, I can also be of help. I've been through it recently and can offer guidance in whatever you need.
