My name is Ameera, and I am currently an undergraduate student studying Chemical Biology at UC Berkeley. Through my academic experience, I have learned how to break down challenging material into manageable steps and support different learning styles, which has prepared me to tutor students in a thoughtful and structured way.
I first developed my tutoring skills while helping peers during high school, where I worked with students one-on-one to review material, clarify difficult topics, and build study strategies. Since then, I have continued working with young people in a variety of settings. I babysit regularly and have served as both a coach and camp counselor, roles that required me to guide groups of children across different age ranges, encourage engagement, and maintain a positive learning environment. I have also volunteered in hospital programs supervising children, which strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and ability to communicate with students who have diverse needs and personalities.
