Hello! My name is Stephanie and I graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese. I have taught a variety of grade levels (Kindergarten to 9th grade). I have ten years of teaching experience. With my experience as a teacher and a tutor I have a deep understanding of common core. My students not only have been successful in gaining the skills they need to succeed in their academic subjects but have also gained confidence.

Anthropology was my undergraduate minor and received mostly A's and B's in the Anthropology content areas. A majority of my Anthropology classes were culture focused, however I did take an archaeology course, Biological Anthropology, Cultural and social anthropology in addition to Linguistics. I took a total of 21 credits of Anthropology courses.

I have a lot of experience teaching with common core. When I graduated from my Master of Arts in Teaching program Common Core was already implemented in the state. I have five years of teaching experience using the common core standards. In addition, while student teaching I used the common core standards to create my lesson plans that used more than one standard at a time.

I taught preschool to grade nine English in Japan. I just received my master of arts in teaching degree, with an elementary education focus from the University of Southern California. While getting my master's degree, I student-taught in a first and fifth grade classroom for a year. While student teaching, I used the Common Core Standards for my lesson plans.

I taught English as a Second Language to middle school students in Japan for three months. Middle school in Japan consists of grades seven to nine. I also taught English as a Second Language at the elementary school level for one year in Japan. Elementary school in Japan consists of grades one to six.

I am qualified to tutor Japanese because this was my undergraduate major. I also studied in Japan for one year as a university student in one of Japan's most prestigious universities. In addition, I lived in Japan an additional year as an English teacher. Finally, I just finished my master of arts in teaching program, with an elementary education focus.
Phonics

Phonics

I have five years of teaching experience. Most of my teaching experience has been teaching Kindergarten and second grade. Because my experience has been with the lower elementary level I teach a lot of phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills. I use fun and engaging strategies for my students to learn phonics such as songs and games. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education.

My 4th grader was reading at the kinder level in reading. After 6 months of tutoring and 3 months with Mrs. Stephanie, 3 times per week. She’s now reading at the grade level (4th grade).
