I have been a teacher in LAUSD for more than two decades, who has taught ESL, English Language Learners, Honors Students, Special Ed Students and Gen Ed students. I have also taught on the University and community college levels. My awards include being the Syracuse University Valedictorian, an SU finalist for the Rhodes/Marshall fellowships (the most prestigious university fellowships awarded, and the recipient of NYU's only developmental fellowship, a full academic financial award granted to a student with the most promise. My teaching combines structure, behavior plans, differentiation, expertise, high expectations based on individual capabilities, individual attention, classroom rotation, hands-on learning, and scaffolding. My philosophy is that every child can learn when given the right tools, and that every child wants to succeed, and takes joy in doing so when given the chance.
