I have been tutoring adults through my library system for 3 years, mainly adults and immigrants who want to hone their English speaking skills. I also emphasize critical thinking by reading essays and discussing the topics with them. I have retained many students over this time period and their skills have improved markedly
My bachelor's degree is in philosophy, with a minor in literature.

I correct students as they are reading. I ask questions about what they are reading to assure they understand. I work with vocabulary, pronunciation, sentence structure, verbal tenses, idioms, grammar and reading comprehension.

If you are struggling with English or want to learn better speaking, reading or writing skills, I have a unique and proven method of doing these things, which are fun as well as instructive. I believe that after a few sessions you will see an improvement of the skills mentioned above.

I am able to tutor students in middle to high school, as well as college students needing help in writing papers and understanding essays or books read for a course. I will also work with recent immigrants or those adults wishing to improve their English skills to enter the job market and find their place in our society.
