As an instructor of English with Golden Gate Language Schools, I taught for success in the Test of English as a Foreign Language. My students overwhelmingly received high scores, often improving by 20 to 30%, and are now enjoying successful careers around the world.
From Golden Gate Language Schools to Masters Institute in the Silicon Valley, I taught students remotely across the United States in everything from basic grammar to powerful essays and research papers. With my students’ success, Masters quickly promoted me to lead teams of other instructors, bringing the value and improvement my own students enjoyed out to the rest of the student body through their own instructors.
Now during these past eight years, my attention has turned to mentoring students from Asia, Latin America, the Middle East. A core priority is on their skills in writing, with essays, academic papers, and resumes. A group this past year worked under my coaching to write their application essays for the University of California. They began with a range of proficiency levels in written English. As I tutored them, they all grew in knowledge and skills and all accepted for their upper division work at UC Berkeley, their top selection.
I now mentor students who are both domestically and internationally based. They have a range of academic backgrounds and for many the focus I bring is the power of persuasion along with review of solid grammatical delivery. They are also interviewing and have brought success to their goals as we practice and hone skills together.
It is my core conviction that every person is a life-long learner, able to improve and enhance communication as you write, design and deliver presentations, and excel at interviews for your dream jobs.
