Hello there! My name is Lisa, and I’m so glad you’re here. I am a California-certified teacher with over 25 years of experience working with children, teenagers and adults. Whether we are meeting in person here in Ventura County or connecting virtually, my goal is to create a safe, high-trust space where you can be successful in your learning, and get better grades.

I specialize in Foundational Science, including Biology, Introductory Chemistry, Physical and Earth Science. I am the person you call when a student feels overwhelmed or stuck in their studies. Rather than just helping with homework, I focus on simplifying and translating difficult scientific concepts into everyday language. I understand that students cannot effectively accept new knowledge until they feel confident in the fundamentals. My job is to meet them exactly where they are, lower the anxiety, and make the material understandable so they are truly ready to move on.

HEBREW LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION: Beyond the sciences, I am a dedicated Hebrew educator for all ages. After graduating from Brown University, I lived in Israel for 15 years. Because I learned Hebrew as an adult, I have a special empathy for how it feels to master a new tongue.
