I am a Southern California–based tubist and music educator currently in my third year of undergraduate study in Music Education at California State University, Fullerton. I serve as principal tubist for the University Symphonic Winds, where I have performed in a variety of high-profile settings, including world premieres and a featured performance at the SCSBOA All-Southern Conference. I have also performed with the University Wind Symphony and the Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble, and I am a three-year veteran of drum corps, having marched with The Cavaliers and Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. In addition to performing, I actively teach throughout Orange County as a brass coach, low brass instructor, and private lesson teacher, helping students strengthen both their technical skills and overall musicianship.
As your teacher, I aim to create a positive and supportive environment where students can grow confidently while still being challenged to improve. My teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals through breath support, tone production, articulation, rhythm accuracy, and effective practice habits so students can become their own best teacher. I also emphasize musicality by helping students develop phrasing, dynamics, stylistic awareness, and active listening skills. In my lessons, I often break difficult passages into smaller sections, use slow metronome practice to build consistency, and encourage students to sing musical lines and record themselves regularly to improve self-awareness. Whether a student is preparing for auditions, school ensembles, solo performances, or simply learning for enjoyment, my goal is to help them become disciplined, expressive, and confident musicians who genuinely enjoy making music.

Approved Subjects

Ear Training

Ear Training

I've been studying ear training since my first semester as a Music Education major at California State University, Fullerton, where I have developed strong skills in melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic recognition. In addition to my coursework, I regularly create and practice customized ear training exercises that strengthen sight-singing, transcription, and listening skills across a variety of musical styles. My performance experience in collegiate ensembles has also helped me apply these skills in real-world rehearsal and performance settings.
General Music

General Music

I began teaching general music during my senior year of high school, working with elementary and middle school students on foundational skills such as music notation, intervals, rhythm, and simple song performance. Since becoming a Music Education student at California State University, Fullerton, I have continued developing effective teaching strategies that simplify complex musical concepts for students of varying experience levels. My experience includes teaching beginner music theory, reading notation, rote song instruction, and introducing students to basic piano skills in an engaging and accessible way.
Trombone

Trombone

I've been performing and teaching low brass instruments since middle school, with experience across classical, jazz, marching, and commercial music settings. As a Music Education student at California State University, Fullerton, and an active collegiate tubist, I have developed strong instructional techniques focused on tone production, airflow, articulation, range development, and overall musicianship. My teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students become confident, independent musicians by building practical practice habits and transferable skills that apply to trombone, euphonium, tuba, and other low brass instruments.
