I’m David. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) and a
master’s degree in electrical engineering (MSEE) under a fellowship program. I
emphasized electromagnetics and antenna engineering for my master’s degree. I work
in antenna engineering today as my regular job. I am also a father of five children and
am overjoyed to have contributed to their educations, particularly in the sciences and
math by being their tutor and mentor – kind of an unfair advantage....

am overjoyed to have contributed to their educations, particularly in the sciences and
math by being their tutor and mentor – kind of an unfair advantage. If it is any
testament, my oldest is a computer scientist working in AI. My second oldest is an Air
Force pilot having graduated from the Air Force Academy and the Air Force Institute of
Technology. Math is fun if looked at in the right way. It is a tool for doing greater things.
It can be fun as well.
My approach to tutoring is to first understand where the student is in the math journey. I
may want to give a test to see where they are or just talk with them. Often a student
can tell you where they are struggling. Once I understand where the student is I will
present the material in a lesson and let them solve several problems. Or, if they want to
go over homework problems, I can help them with that as well. I will generally give a
student a challenge or two to work on as well. I specialize in Calculus but will tutor in
any math subject. Calculus requires the student to be very proficient with algebra. So,
it is important to have a strong foundation in algebra first.
In the end, I want to be beneficial to the student. I am a listener first and foremost and
look forward to helping the student to success, with the help of parents if that is
beneficial. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a
lesson.
