With over eight years of tutoring experience, I have honed my tutoring skills, helping students achieve their academic goals.
My tutoring experience spans a wide range of subjects and student ages. I have taught middle school, high school, and college students, focusing on subjects such as biochemistry, advanced physics, and various math disciplines. I initially pursued a path to become a substitute teacher by taking the CBEST, but my career took a different direction. However, my passion for teaching remains strong, and I am eager to give back by helping the next generation learn math and science in a relatable and engaging manner.
Throughout my tutoring career, I have employed various methods to ensure my students grasp complex concepts. I bring in problem sets and examples tailored to each student's interests to make learning more engaging. For instance, I have used basketball references to teach chemistry concepts to sports enthusiasts and explained enzyme coordination in biology to students involved in cheerleading. By connecting complex topics to students' passions, I make the material more relatable and easier to understand.
I have conducted group sessions for SAT/ACT preparation, but the majority of my work has been one-on-one tutoring. This personalized approach allows me to provide the individual attention that each student needs to succeed. My goal is to make STEM subjects accessible and enjoyable, fostering a love for learning in my students.
