As a former lead first-grade teacher for three years, I understand the critical foundations of early learning. I specialize in teaching phonics, reading, writing, and math, with a particular emphasis on helping struggling readers build confidence and fluency. I designed and implemented an extension reading intervention program, which focused on strengthening foundational skills in phonics and reading fluency, tailored to the unique needs of each learner.
I am certified in Orton-Gillingham instruction, a research-based approach to phonics and reading instruction, and have extensive experience with Common Core standards and a variety of curriculums. My expertise lies in adapting these programs to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of every child, ensuring that lessons are engaging, accessible, and effective.
