Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop

I am good teacher I found out recently and I love creating cool things in Photoshop...but I'm sure that they wanted to know a real qualification. I animate a lot of Warner Brothers BTS images for most of the CGI projects creating additional content they get to put on the dvd. Wait, do people still buy those? Also I am hired on other professional projects all the time to deliver high quality comps that I get paid for.
Film

Film

Editing professional film, television, news and digital video for the past 18 years has taught me many things...but mainly its showed me that I'm already a teacher. My job is to push the director to see and explore new avenues they weren't thinking of. Pull the writer to develop stronger characters, deeper emotions and to find that connective tissue that we can see on screen. I'm already teaching professionals, I want to expand that to those who are just starting. Art is all about collaboration, especially in the film world. I curate not only the content, but the people. Build them into artists that accept crazy thoughts as strikes of inspiration, welcome cacophony as music and strive to pull the furthest strings of the plot to see what they pull up. My goal is to help you make your project the absolute best that it can be.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I know how to shape a performance because that is my job. As a film director, I figure out how to help a person broadcast their intention, emotions, ideas through their words and actions and public speaking is no different than any other kind of performer. I love my job and think that I would be incredibly helpful to those I tutor in this field.
Theater

Theater

Whatever your theater needs I will be able to help. I have directed and acted professionally, artistically and generically. Sometimes great, sometimes horrible....but never half assed. I am a professional film director and editor who came from the stage a long time ago. But I've never lost where I came from, 'cause, what do those film people know about acting? I'm available for whatever it is you might need. Help with blocking? Help with getting that actor to hit his emotions? Beats? or even just their marks on stage? I'm there. No job is too small, because art is never small. Chekov is in my title because....my actors know... if you don't get it....then you don't get it. Below are some links to projects that I've directed, edited and written. Watch and enjoy!

My job is to push the director to see and explore new avenues they weren't thinking of. Pull the writer to develop stronger characters, deeper emotions and to find that connective tissue that we can see on screen. Squeeze the DP into finding the angle that shows the most emotion. Writing

Writing

I'm here for all your writing needs. Fiction and non-fiction alike, I'm here to help you achieve your writing goals. In-person, online or over the phone....however it is that I can be of assistance, I will be. I have more than 20 years of creative writing experience in films, television, and creative writing. I am a full-time film editor and director and writing was something that I HAD to figure out how to do. My teachers let me make films instead of write papers and by the time I was finished with high school, I couldn't write a 5-paragraph essay to save my life. After I took my first creative writing class in college the teacher took me aside and basically told me that he didn't understand much of what I was trying to convey. He had taken a shining to me and gave me out of class assignments...starting with simple 5 paragraph essays, then moving onto copying other kinds of writing like the instructions on shampoo bottles, introductions to textbooks and even recipes. Once I would copy them, and figure out the structure, I would create my own and on and on it went. We went through stereo instruction manuals to poems, sonnets, non-fiction stories, fiction, and oddly enough I still wanted to learn how to write. After describing this out loud it seems like I should have been bored and walked away, but it only pushed my ravenous need to write further. I now offer you the same...no we will not be writing out directions on the back of conditioner bottles, but I will bring that same passion to our sessions. I look forward to working with you soon.
