I'm a Spanish/ESL Teacher with over 17 years of experience teaching all ages and levels. I've worked with large groups, small groups, and given private lessons for both English and Spanish learners.

I'm also trained in Musical Theater and a certified Yoga teacher. I have a BFA in Dance and a M.Ed. in Educational Innovation and Technology.

During my teaching career, I’ve dived into corporate training offering English and Spanish courses to employees of international manufacturing companies both in Mexico and Los Angeles.

I’ve realized how many more job opportunities there are for actors who speak more than one language so I’ve developed effective ways to help actors become bilingual, sharpen their pronunciation, or just be able to master a specific text for an audition.

Before deciding to pursue a career in the performing arts, I studied Medicine for over three years, so I specialize in medical terminology (English/Spanish) and medical translation.

As per my tutoring/teaching method, it varies depending on the student. I need to know my student's personality, goals, and previous training before establishing a plan of action. I adapt my teaching to each person to make the learning process both efficient and fun.

I have been training since a young age, I've trained with great ballet dancers and choreographers who have danced professionally in companies around the world. I have a BFA in Dance and I have Musical Theatre training. Besides Ballet, I dance Jazz, Flamenco and Tap. I believe that a solid classical training is critic to master any other style of Dance.

I studied Yoga in India. I completed an intensive 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh, where I stayed for over a month getting trained by talented teachers. I am a certified yoga teacher recognized by the U.S. Yoga Alliance.

Melisa is a fantastic teacher. She’s adaptive to the student’s needs, laid back, friendly and easy to laugh with. She is diligent in making sure her students understand how to correctly enunciate words and addresses questions with thoughtful consideration and patience. Really couldn’t recommend Melisa more!
