I attended UC San Diego and attained a BA in History, focusing on the History of Science. Soon after graduation, I traveled to Shanghai, China, to teach kids and play rugby for a semi-pro team. While in Shanghai, I taught various grade levels (kindergarten, 1st, 4th, 10th) and was a private tutor for families looking to improve their children's English skills. After 2.5 years spent in China, I decided to take a break and return to the States however, it was not for long. New Zealand was my next destination to make an impact on kids as an ESL Teacher and rugby coach for 1 year. When the COVID-19 pandemic I returned home to attend Alder Graduate School of Education and obtained my M.Ed. I proceeded to teach 4th grade and eventually found my calling teaching 7th Grade Social Studies. Both were fulfilling and allowed me to help kids in a safe, encouraging, and engaging classroom environment.
