Hi there, my name is Fran!
I've always been interested in social sciences & history through out school, even if the classes weren't always exciting.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, having graduate in 2021. However, during my time in college, but the community college and 4 year university I would tutor both high school students and college students alike in various subjects such as French, Japanese, History & English composition. While doing this I have received training from my work at Chula Vista High School as a tutor and additional education through tutor courses at Southwestern College.
I believe it is important to understand history in order to build a better future.
Besides having a degree in Anthropology, I'm proficient in lower-division anthropological concepts in three fields of Anthropology: Physical Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology & Archaeology. I have also participated and presented research in the 2019 Student Research Symposium.
I used to live in Japan without translation tools and had to learn Japanese to get by.
I am proficient in elementary Japanese vocabulary & grammar.
I can also help with learning basic hiragana, katakana & kanji.
I have worked with high school students in English, particularly in developing essay structure & formatting and more!
I have worked with high school students in Social Studies with: document-based questions (DBQ's), literature review and research and more!
I am resourceful and accommodate the needs of my students and am always open to feedback. I am best reached by email; feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a session.
