Experienced tutor

My son took a few lessons focusing on ISEE upper verbal and reasoning with Phillip. Phillip has done a great job teaching him how to improve his score from 5/6 to both 9s in the recent official test. I am very impressed. In addition, he always responses to my questions and concerns quickly. He summarizes what happens in the class right after each one and gives a plan for the next class. He is very encouraging and patient. I definitely recommend Phillip to anyone preparing ISEE exams.

Just the tutor you need!

I needed to pass my TEAs exam to get into the nursing program at the college I want to go to. I struggled A LOT on the English subject and had only one more attempt to take and pass this exam or I would have to wait a very long time to take it again. After going through wyzant trying to find the tutor who fit my needs, I came across Phillip. He provided me all of the resources and information I needed to have a clear understanding In English. With his patience, reliability, and knowledge, I was able to pass my exam. My score improved from the 50s to a score in the 70s. He is just the tutor you need.

Very competent tutor

I was impressed about his credentials at first in choosing Phillip as my son's SAT ELA tutor and he did not disappoint me. Initially, I've considered one of those expensive academy but, I'm glad that I've made right decision in choosing Phillip. Phillip was quick to catch my son's weakness and focused on them on each sessions. Now knowing why my son is making same mistakes again and again, and how to look for them made tremendous difference on his performance. I can see my son improving after each sessions. SAT isn't something he fears anymore. Phillip is very likable and makes the lessons fun for his students. I am very happy about my experience with Phillip. I highly recommend him.

Excellent SAT/ACT tutor

Phillip worked my son to prep him for the English section of the SAT/ACT. He was extremely helpful and patient with my son explaining the process and which test may be a better fit for him. He followed up immediately after the session and sent my son tips/practice tests to review before their next session. I found Phillip was very quick to respond when my son or myself asked him question. I would highly recommend Phillip… I think he is a wonderful tutor!

Highly Recommended ERB/ISEE Tutor

Phillip tutored my son for the verbal section of the ERB/ISEE exam. He did a wonderful job. My son looked forward to his lessons with Phillip and felt that he learned a lot, both from the lessons themselves and from the practice material Phillip that provided. Passionate Teacher

My kid has taken 20+ lessons so far. From that my experience is GREAT! First, he understands the kid and its need, then he tries to make his lessons be understood . Towards that he ensures the connection with the kid which ensures kid's eagerness to join the next class. Kid also feel him to be one-stop for his ELA improvement. Neither I nor my kid is knowledgable enough to measure the depth of teacher except his profile and that is quite rich. However, I'm ONLY happy when kid improves his ELA skill and that's happening!! Isn't that enough?

Great Tutor; Highly Knowledgeable

My son; who is a freshmen was good in his English but was missing his A's due to the fine adjustments needed. It is great that I found Phillip. We took a few lessons with Phillip; where we started noticing that my son is coming up with the long waited A's. Phillip understood the issues and worked towards fixing it. He is really motivating and is open to help whenever needed. At end of the class he gives a review on what was taught in that session which is pretty helpful for me. I appreciate Phillip in his quick response, flexibility, helping mentality and doing a great session .I highly recommend him.

Excellent Writing Tutor

My son has had several sessions with Phillip, mainly focusing on the essay and verbal reasoning sections of the ISEE exam. Why several sessions? It's because my son thinks Phillip is an excellent tutor who has helped him immensely in these areas and thinks Phillip can continue to help him even more. Phillip is very patient and thorough. He takes a thoughtful approach to teaching each student based on their needs. My son, who is not a fan of writing or vocabulary lists, actually enjoys his sessions with Phillip. As a parent, I greatly appreciate Phillip's responsiveness and the detailed lesson summaries he sends at the end of every session. He is a true professional, and I highly recommend him.
