I use proprietary database software and practice questions from official guides and major schools to teach the strategies students need to learn in order to do well on their exams. To identify their weak areas and focus on them more deeply, I employ data analysis to track my students’ performance on the application of the strategies and principles required to do well on the exam.

During the first lesson, I evaluate the student's proficiencies in the main categories and from then on uses materials that are likely to advance those proficiencies. I assign homework after each lesson, consisting of a review of the previous meeting, GMAT idiom or GRE vocabulary flashcards, new and previously missed questions, and a report of the strategies has missed multiple times.

William tutored me for the GMAT over the course of little over 2 months. His lesson structure and practical approach enabled me to rapidly identify and deal with gaps in my knowledge and skill set, while challenging me using questions set at an appropriate level of difficulty to help raise my skill level. I ended up scoring a 770 (99th percentile score) out of 800 on an August 2022 GMAT. I highly recommend his work - especially for those who are looking for advanced assistance and advice to take your score to the next level, which few (if any) GMAT prep courses are equipped to do half as well as William can!

Great for Topic Review, Lacks Strategy Focus

William is clearly knowledgeable about the specific topics tested on the GMAT, and the software he uses to assign and organize work is well-structured and helpful. However, I found there to be a significant gap in strategy-focused instruction—particularly in test-taking techniques and time management. Much of our session work was done untimed, which made it difficult for me to transition effectively into timed practice exams. I believe William could be a great tutor for students who need targeted help with particular topics or who are struggling with specific content areas. However, for students at the foundational stage (GMAT FE 575–600 range) who need to build strong test-taking habits and strategy, I think time and resources may be better spent initially focusing on those areas. Once specific weaknesses are identified, William may be a useful resource for honing in on them. After 10 sessions, I am still far from my target score, which leads me to believe this approach wasn’t the most effective fit for my needs at this stage.

Knowledgeable and Experienced Tutor

William is a terrific GMAT tutor. After a couple of months of work together, he helped me raise my score by 70 points and achieve my goal of scoring in the 700s, which I am absolutely positive I could not have done on my own. In particular, my quant score jumped up significantly, which is quite important for b-school applications. We spent our lessons quite effectively, focusing mainly on the material with very little chit chat. Outside of lessons, William assigned homework on his proprietary website that adjusts the material and content tested in real time based off of our lessons. Besides focusing on the quant and verbal sections, William was also able to provide essay and IR prep where needed. Throughout my time with William, I took GMAT official practice exams to test my progress, and with each test, my scores would increase, proving the success of the program. William was a terrific tutor in all subject matters for the GMAT/Executive Assessment - particularly in the quant sections.
