Bio

I am a writing, English, and History tutor based in the Beverly Hills area. I worked for three years as a UCLA Writing Center tutor, assisting other undergraduates with their writing skills. While there, I was trained in a non-directive tutoring style, which allows students to maintain control over their writing with helpful guidance from a tutor. I was promoted to a supervisor in my final year.

I graduated from UCLA in June of 2025 with a double-major in History and American Literature & Culture. My courses focused mainly on American and modern European History. In my Senior year, I conducted original research concerning UC Berkeley's 1964 Free Speech Movement. The research was later published in UCLA's Undergraduate History Journal. I also was selected to present an English research paper on the aesthetic similarities of Arnold Schoenberg's music and Ernest Hemingway's writing at the UCLA ACES conference.

I am qualified to help high school or university students with any writing-related assignments, as well as personal statements for college applications. I am also qualified as an academic tutor for any high-school or university English or History courses.

Approved Subjects

College Counseling

College Counseling

As an advisor at UCLA's Undergraduate Writing Center, I guided students through graduate school application materials, including personal statements, resumes, and strategic planning around which research experiences and labs would strengthen their candidacy. I also have extensive volunteer experience helping high school students craft compelling college application essays and navigate the admissions process for universities. Through both roles, I've developed a strong understanding of what admissions committees look for and how to help students present their experiences in the most authentic and competitive light.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

At UCLA's Undergraduate Writing Center, I worked as a Peer Learning Facilitator in which I reviewed hundreds of academic essays in one-on-one sessions with other undergraduates. I gained extensive experience analyzing and editing essays in virtually every discipline -- from Sociology to Mechanical Engineering. I also have published an original research paper in UCLA's Undergraduate History. A group of UCLA English professors also selected one of my essays to be presented at the ACES conference in 2025.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As a UCLA Peer Learning Facilitator, I reviewed and edited hundreds of personal statements for graduate schools (law, medical, Masters, PhD). In these one-on-one sessions, I assisted students with how to best present their narratives and academic experiences to graduate programs. I believe that the best personal statements accomplish the following: (1) answer the given prompt and do not veer off-topic, (2) balance brief anecdotes with experience/accomplishments, (3) maintain an academic and professional tone, and (4) are uniquely specific to the writer.
Saxophone

Saxophone

I have played jazz saxophone for 11 years and currently play in a jazz-funk band. I played and studied in a Jazz combo at the UCLA Alpert School of Music, where I studied jazz improvisation. I can help absolute beginners learn to play the instrument, but also intermediates looking to gain a better grasp with tone and improvisation techniques.
Tennis

Tennis

I have been playing tennis all my life and am qualified to teach. I took tennis lessons for 5 years and played on the Beverly Hills Tennis Team.
United States History

United States History

I studied History in college with a focus on U.S. History. I have extensive knowledge of U.S. History across time periods -- from pre-Columbian times to the present. In my senior year, I published original research on the UC Berkeley Free Speech Movement, an important event in U.S. History.
