Hi! I'm Olivia — a Dartmouth-educated writer and educator with 10+ years of tutoring experience across every level of English and humanities. I trained at LAMDA in London and have taught Shakespeare internationally, including in Bosnia & Herzegovina, which gave me a deep appreciation for how literature transcends culture and connects us all.

My specialty? Finding the book that turns a reluctant reader into someone who actually wants to read. I treat tutoring a bit like a book club — we find what lights you up, and go from there. Whether your student dreads English class or just needs the right story, I'll find it.

I cover SAT/ISEE prep, high school English and history, college and graduate school applications (including med school), vocabulary building, and college-level writing. My students consistently gain admission to top colleges — references and results available on request. Many of my students have been with me for years, which I think says everything.

I'm new to this platform but not to this work. I'd love to meet your student.

Approved Subjects

Acting

Acting

A classically trained actor with a degree from Dartmouth College and advanced training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), I have built a professional career in both theater and on-camera work, with credits including Netflix, NBC, and Showtime productions such as Monster: Dahmer, The Lincoln Lawyer, Super Pumped, and Mr. Mayor. I continue to deepen my craft through ongoing study in Los Angeles, keeping my teaching grounded in what is actually working in today's industry. I have extensive experience coaching actors of all ages, helping students find their authentic voice, build confidence on camera and on stage, and develop the technical foundation needed for serious training or professional auditions. My approach bridges classical technique and contemporary on-camera performance, giving students a versatile, well-rounded acting education.
College Counseling

College Counseling

A Dartmouth College graduate and active alumni interviewer for Dartmouth admissions, I have spent years guiding students through every stage of the college application process: from crafting a compelling personal narrative (the most important step!) to building a strategic school list fit to their interests. My students have been accepted to top universities across the country, including Ivy League institutions, and I have successfully coached applicants through the unique demands of transfer applications, graduate programs, recruitment for athletes, and medical school admissions. I bring a genuinely insider perspective to every application, and I help students present their most authentic, compelling selves on paper and in interviews. Whether you are a high school student beginning to build your profile or a working professional pursuing a graduate degree, I can't wait to get to know you better and help guide you to where you want to go.
Creative Writing

Creative Writing

As a working screenwriter with credits across film and television, I've spent my career doing exactly what I help my students do: finding the story, building the world, and making every word earn its place on the page. I've tutored creative writing for over a decade across all ages and skill levels, from students discovering their voice for the first time to advanced writers looking to push their craft into new territory. My background spans everything from structure and character development to dialogue and point of view, drawing on both my professional experience in the industry and my years as an English educator and Shakespeare teacher. Whether you want to write fiction, screenplays, personal essays, or poetry; whether your a child just starting to explore your imagination or someone well seasoned and looking for challenging upgrades, I'll meet you where you are and help you write something you're genuinely proud of.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I've spent over a decade tutoring students of all ages in essay writing, with a deep specialization in college application essays and the personal statement, which I believe is the single most powerful tool you have in your application. I know how to help you find the best thesis or story only you can tell / argue, how to sharpen your voice, and how to craft something that feels both authentically you and genuinely compelling. Whether you're starting from a blank page or a rough draft you're not sure about, I'll help you turn your ideas into well thought out, confident material.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

As a professional screenwriter with credits on major productions at Netflix, I bring real industry experience to fiction writing instruction. I specialize in character development, narrative structure, dialogue, and world-building: the core craft elements that separate compelling stories from forgettable ones. My work spans features, television pilots, and web series, giving me a versatile perspective on how stories function across different formats and genres. Whether you're developing your first short story, workshopping a novel chapter, or learning the fundamentals of dramatic structure, I can help you find and sharpen your unique voice.
Film

Film

A Film and Media Studies minor from Dartmouth College and working professional, I bring both critical training and real industry experience to my teaching. I have written and produced short films, an award-winning web series, and an independent feature film in which I also starred, and I have worked professionally as a screenwriter both independently and in a Netflix television writer's room. I help students develop original voices as screenwriters, understand story structure, and learn the craft of writing for the screen at any level. I also enjoy diving into critical analysis of films through historical, social, political, or technological lenses. Whether a student is analyzing film for an academic course, developing their first short, or seriously pursuing screenwriting, I bring the full picture, from film history and theory to the realities of working in the industry today.
ISEE

ISEE

With a decade of experience preparing students for the ISEE at the Lower, Middle, and Upper levels, I specialize exclusively in the verbal, reading, and essay sections, helping students master reading comprehension, sentence completion, and vocabulary. My students consistently score well and build confidence in reading/vocab, thanks to a structured, engaging approach tailored to each learner's needs. I love to teach vocabulary through Latin and Greek roots, turning unfamiliar words into solvable puzzles: using custom-designed flashcards that make decoding even the toughest ISEE vocabulary feel like a game. Whether your child is a reluctant reader or a strong writer looking to sharpen their edge, I meet them exactly where they are and help them learn how to get the results they want.
Linguistics

Linguistics

As a linguistics minor with focused study in phonetics, syntax, and language evolution, I bring both academic grounding and genuine passion to every session. My background in phonetics extends into practical accent work: I can help students understand and produce sounds across a range of accents and dialects, making me especially effective for students studying speech, language acquisition, or performance. I know how to break down complex linguistic concepts into approachable, engaging lessons. Whether you're tackling a linguistics course, preparing for a language exam, or simply curious about how language works, I'll meet you where you are.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I've spent over a decade tutoring students of all ages in writing, with a deep specialization in college application essays and the personal statement, which I believe is the single most powerful tool you have in any application. I know how to help you find the best story only you can tell, how to sharpen your voice, and how to craft something that feels both authentically you and genuinely compelling. Whether you're starting from a blank page or a rough draft you're not sure about, I'll help you turn your ideas into well thought out, confident material.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

As a classically trained actor and LAMDA graduate, as well as seasoned "pitcher", I bring a uniquely rigorous theatrical foundation to public speaking instruction, one that goes far beyond tips and tricks. I work with students on the full toolkit: breath control, vocal placement, physicality, presence, and the art of connecting authentically with an audience. My training in Shakespeare and international teaching experience across multiple countries has sharpened my ability to help speakers find power and clarity in any context, from boardroom presentations to academic speeches to performance. Whether you're managing anxiety, developing your voice, or simply learning to command a room, I'll give you the same tools professional actors use every day.
Theater

Theater

A theater major at Dartmouth College, I trained at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), where I developed a specialized focus on Shakespeare and his contemporaries: work I later brought internationally, teaching and performing Shakespeare in Bosnia & Herzegovina. My experience spans the full breadth of the discipline: I have performed in Off-Broadway productions, designed lighting for both collegiate and international productions, and studied theater history extensively as part of my formal training. I bring this wide-ranging background into my teaching, helping students connect performance, design, and historical context as an integrated art form rather than separate subjects. Whether a student is preparing for an audition, working through a technical design project, or analyzing dramatic literature, I meet them with professional, hands-on expertise at every level.
