Hi,I’m Amer, graduated from University of Arizona with a B.S. in Physics in 2012. Since, I have been a graduate student working towards a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Arizona specializing in electricty and charges. During my time in graduate school I have taught (both as a Teaching Assistant and Primary Instructor) Physics 1 (Mechanics), Physics 2 (Electricity & Magnetism), and Computational Physics each at the Algebra and Calculus level. My teaching style is learner-centric and I have employed active learning techniques to empower my students to learn.

My academic achievements include 2nd prizes in Chemistry and Math Olympiads, a full score in GRE Quantitative, and top 2% in the GRE Chemistry Subject test. I have passed the AP courses and final exam for college credit in both Physics C mechanics and electricity in magnetism as well as in Calculus BC. I have also been very successful and have tutored in Calculus 1-3 and in differential equations in college, both with matlab and on paper. I have also made an ACT Math score of 35 (out of 36) and am very comfortable teaching any learning style this material to be successful in any standardized math test.

I have spent two years tutoring college physics to University of Arizona students. I develop tutoring sessions based on the goals of the each student. Most tutoring lessons involve the student solving problems (whether they be homework, test prep, or example problems) while I provide oversight. I’ve worked with students from middle school to college in both one-on-one and small group settings of up to five students, creating engaging and personalized learning environments tailored to their needs.

In my stretch of tutoring, it has become clear that there is no lone strategy for helping every student absorb information. As a tutor, I make a personal effort to become familiar with a student's 'learning personality' so that I may steer clear of lecturing -- something already available in a conventional classroom. Let’s learn the physics together.
