I'm an Applied Mathematics student at UC Berkeley and a former Mathnasium instructor. I help students make sense of math, build confidence, and develop a clear approach to unfamiliar problems. I tutor Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus, whether you're working through a difficult class, preparing for a test, or strengthening your foundation. My Berkeley coursework includes multivariable calculus and linear algebra, giving me a broader perspective on how the concepts students learn today connect to what comes next.
From August 2024 through June 2025, I taught at Mathnasium of Manhattan Beach, working with more than 15 students each week, ages 6-17, on topics ranging from arithmetic to calculus. I adapted explanations to different levels of understanding and earned Employee of the Month in October 2024. That experience taught me how important it is to find the specific step where a student gets stuck. A confusing problem often becomes manageable once we address a missing concept, explain it differently, and build from there.
In our lessons, I'll start with your current work and goals, then ask you to walk me through your thinking so we can identify what needs attention. We'll break problems into manageable steps, connect formulas to the ideas behind them, and practice until you can explain the method yourself. You can expect patient explanations, room to ask questions, and practice focused on the skills you need most. My goal is for you to leave with an approach you can use independently on homework and tests. For ongoing support, we'll revisit earlier skills while keeping pace with your class. Send me your course, the topics you're working on, and any upcoming test dates so we can plan a focused first lesson.
