I'm currently a freshman at UC Berkeley working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have a strong passion and affinity for Math and Physics and love to understand why things work the way they do. That is philosophy is central to the way that I teach, because I believe that to truly learn something, you need to understand the why rather than merely the how. I do this by highlighting the distinct connections between concepts that may have been forgotten as we move on through curriculum...
I do this by highlighting the distinct connections between concepts that may have been forgotten as we move on through curriculum and drawing bridges across old material in order to create a conceptual understanding.
While I don't have much formal tutoring experience, I have consistently served as a peer tutor at my high school, taught SAT math bootcamps through platforms like Schoolhouse World, and written my own study resources and problem sets that I shared with classmates to prepare for exams. One of the key skills that I get frequent recognition for is how well I am able to quickly understand the gaps in a student's understanding and find a personalized and accessible way of filling that gap. I've been told that I am an engaging, fun speaker and my passion and love for math shines through as I explain.
I have scored a 5 on AP Precalculus, AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics C: E&M. I've been commended by many of my high school teachers for always being willing to help others and chasing further knowledge rather than stopping at what was needed for the grade. I'd love to meet with you, so please reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session with me!
