Bio

I'm currently a freshman at UC Berkeley working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have a strong passion and affinity for Math and Physics and love to understand why things work the way they do. That is philosophy is central to the way that I teach, because I believe that to truly learn something, you need to understand the why rather than merely the how. I do this by highlighting the distinct connections between concepts that may have been forgotten as we move on through curriculum...

I do this by highlighting the distinct connections between concepts that may have been forgotten as we move on through curriculum and drawing bridges across old material in order to create a conceptual understanding.
While I don't have much formal tutoring experience, I have consistently served as a peer tutor at my high school, taught SAT math bootcamps through platforms like Schoolhouse World, and written my own study resources and problem sets that I shared with classmates to prepare for exams. One of the key skills that I get frequent recognition for is how well I am able to quickly understand the gaps in a student's understanding and find a personalized and accessible way of filling that gap. I've been told that I am an engaging, fun speaker and my passion and love for math shines through as I explain.
I have scored a 5 on AP Precalculus, AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics C: E&M. I've been commended by many of my high school teachers for always being willing to help others and chasing further knowledge rather than stopping at what was needed for the grade. I'd love to meet with you, so please reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session with me!

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have a very strong understanding of the algebraic foundations used throughout higher level math, including equations, functions, factoring, systems of equations, exponents, and quadratics. As a recent high school graduate and current UC Berkeley engineering student, I use these concepts constantly in calculus, physics, and engineering. I've tutored around 15 students as a peer tutor in high school, and I've learned how to identify exactly where someone is getting stuck rather than simply showing them the answer. I especially enjoy finding different ways to explain a concept until it clicks and helping students build problem-solving skills they can use on their own.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have a strong understanding of Algebra 2 concepts including functions, polynomials, exponentials and logarithms, complex numbers, sequences and series, and systems of equations. I earned a 5 on AP Precalculus, Calculus AB and BC, which required me to build a very strong algebraic foundation and continue applying these concepts in more advanced mathematics. I've tutored around 15 students as a peer tutor in high school ranging from algebra 2 to calculus, and I've found that one of the most important parts of tutoring is figuring out why a student is struggling with a problem. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each step rather than memorizing procedures, so they can recognize how to approach unfamiliar problems themselves.
Calculus

Calculus

5 (max score) on AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, Physics C: Mechanics, and Physics C: E&M. Strong foundational knowledge of calculus and why things work the way they do. I've tutored 15~ students as a peer tutor in high school. I've written my own practice problems to understand the subject from both a student & teacher's perspective, and this allows me to better understand where someone is going wrong when solving a problem.
Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering

I've been CADing for 10 years with the most experience in Fusion360 (other softwares include Onshape, RevIt, Blender, and SketchUp. I'm good specifically with teaching parametric modeling and design for 3d printing, as I have owned, maintained, and upgraded two of my own printers (Ender 3 v2 and Bambu Lab P1S). I'm good with the basics and was brought in multiple times to help various clubs and classes at my high school learn CAD and printing skills.
Physics

Physics

5 (max score) on AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, Physics C: Mechanics, and Physics C: E&M. Strong foundational knowledge of physics and why things work the way they do. I've tutored 15~ students as a peer tutor in high school. I've written my own practice problems to understand the subject from both a student & teacher's perspective, and this allows me to better understand where someone is going wrong when solving a problem.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I've scored 790+ on 3 official SAT Math sections and 7 Bluebook Practice Exams. I have a very in depth understanding of how all SAT math concepts and how to use Desmos (Calculator tool provided on the SAT). I enjoy finding tricks to solve problems in the most efficient way, so the skill I can help with the most is quickly categorizing a problem and recalling the tools that can be used to solve them. As a recent high school graduate, I'm up to date with the new formats and know the best strategies for what students will be facing. If time pressure or feeling lost on how to solve a problem is a struggle, I can help!
