Hello! My name is Kaelani and I will be receiving a bachelors in Physics from UC Berkeley this May! As such, I have taken classes involving mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, thermal/statistical physics, particle physics, condensed matter physics, atomic/molecular/optical physics, and quantum field theory. I have kept an A- average throughout my studies.
I have ample tutoring experience as I have tutored many undergraduates in chemistry and physics. Specifically, I led review sessions for ~15 chemistry students taking a Physical Chemistry/Quantum Mechanics course about 5 times over the past few years. Listening to their needs, we started sessions with a review of important concepts then moved into solving problems together! Additionally, I have been a Physics tutor for the UC Berkeley Residential Tutoring Program. I tutor undergraduates (typically Freshmen & Sophomores) for introductory physics courses taken at UC Berkeley. I have been in this role since August of 2025. Through this role, I have taken 18 hours of professional training through UC Berkeley to prepare me for effectively tutoring students in individual or group settings depending on their needs!
I understand that tutoring is not teaching. I aim to assess a students needs and use their pre-existing strengths to help them become a more well-rounded and confident student. Science is not easy, but I hope to build up a student such that they gain the intuition needed to be successful.
