My academic and professional journey has been defined by a commitment to mastering the "first principles" of engineering, mathematics, and physics. I recently graduated with my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and will be continuing in a PhD Fellowship this fall, researching computational thermomechanics for materials at ultra-high temperatures. I have maintained a standard of excellence, exemplified by my perfect Quantitative section scores of 170 on the GRE and 800 for the SAT. This rigorous academic foundation is bolstered by two summers of industry experience as a crashworthiness Analysis Engineering intern at Tesla, where I applied advanced physics and calculus to solve critical safety challenges in vehicle design.
My experience includes one-on-one tutoring from the high school to college level, working as undergraduate engineering course staff, lecturing graduate-level engineering seminars, and providing academic and professional coaching through various student organizations. My teaching philosophy centers around anchoring abstract concepts to real-world applications and analogies as I believe physical intuition and mathematical rigor are both necessary. To this end, I explore teaching methods including mathematical derivations, visualizations, examples, problem-solving strategies, and more to determine what works best for each student.
I am a good fit for advanced high school or college students in STEM fields who are interested in subject mastery, not just to pass a class. I am an enthusiastic, high-energy tutor with a passion for both the subjects and the practice of teaching. The most important quality I look for in a student is genuine motivation. If you are eager to engage deeply with the material and commit to thorough understanding, I welcome students of all backgrounds and current skill levels to reach out and discuss how we can achieve your academic goals.
