I am currently a freshman at the University of California, Berkeley, where I am intending to major in business with a minor in Sustainable Business and Policy. My academic background includes rigorous AP and college-level classes in English (5 on AP Lang and 4 on AP Lit), Calculus (5 on AP Calc AB), Multivariable Calculus, and writing-intensive subjects (5 on AP Psychology), which strengthened my skills in structured writing and critical thinking. Writing and communication have consistently been central to my education, both academically and through applied, real-world projects.
I have multiple years of experience tutoring and teaching students across elementary school and high school. In high school, I was an active member of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF), where I served as a peer tutor supporting fellow students in subjects such as Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and Calculus. In addition, I worked with elementary students (3rd - 5th grade) through school district enrichment and extended learning programs, where I created lesson plans and taught in small-group and classroom-style environments. I have also mentored younger students through leadership programs, providing one-on-one academic guidance, organization support, and study skills. These experiences allowed me to work with students at different academic levels and tailor my approach to individual needs.
My tutoring style is patient, interactive, and highly individualized. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind concepts rather than relying on memorization, and I break material into clear, manageable steps. As a previous student who was tutored on Wyzant, I am aware of the perspective of being tutored, and also what works and what doesn’t. Whether I am working with younger students building foundational skills or high school students preparing for advanced coursework, my goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel confident and capable of success.
