About Harshitha

Bio

I’m a JD candidate at UC Berkeley School of Law and a summa cum laude graduate of USC, where I double-majored in Data Science and Political Science. I scored a 1560 on the SAT and a 170 on the LSAT after four months of self-study. I understand standardized tests—how they’re built, how to study efficiently, and how to push past plateaus. I’ve been teaching for five years, including two years at a well known tutoring facility, coaching debate at Prestige Debate Academy, and running Project Power of the Voice, a student organization I started that has taught public speaking and debate to over 1,300 students nationwide.
My SAT prep is focused and reflective. Many students run through practice tests without improving—not for lack of effort, but lack of extraction. We slow down, analyze missed questions, and use them to target content gaps and strategy. We drill word problems, parse tough passages, and develop strategies to eliminate tricky answer options. In writing, I help students brainstorm, structure, and refine essays. I’ve been admitted to programs like Berkeley EECS, CMU CS, USC, and Berkeley Law—I know how to write for varied audiences and sharpen ideas without losing authentic voice.
In debate, I bring four years of Lincoln-Douglas experience, including T12 at CHSSA, and three years of British Parliamentary debate at USC, where I ranked among the top 25 teams nationally and broke at tournaments like Cornell, UCLA, and Berkeley. I have an intuitive grasp of generating arguments under pressure, identifying clash, and anticipating round strategy.
My pedagogical approach focuses on helping students understand their own thought patterns and problem-solving methods so they can become independent, flexible learners. I believe learning is about thinking about how you learn. Many students come to tutoring unsure of what to achieve or how to structure their learning, and I’m happy to create a personalized plan tailored to your goals, strengths, and challenges.
