Astrophysics Major with Strong Math Background

Hi, I’m Delilah! I’m a college student majoring in astrophysics, and I love helping students build confidence in their understanding of math. My coursework has given me a strong foundation in math and physics, and I’m excited to share my enthusiasm for these subjects with my students. My goal is for every student to leave each session feeling prepared to tackle future problems on their own.

I tutored all four years of high school as part of my school’s advanced math curriculum, working one-on-one with 9th-12th grade students in geometry, algebra, precalculus, and calculus. I helped with homework, test preparation, and challenging concepts. Because I wasn’t much older than many of the students I worked with, I learned how important it is to explain ideas in a way that feels approachable. I related new concepts to topics students already understood and checked in often to make sure my explanations were making sense.

Outside of tutoring, I’ve completed college-level multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and honors-level calculus-based physics courses as part of my astrophysics coursework. I also completed AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and both AP Physics C courses in high school. Outside of the classroom, I served as president of my school’s physics club, participated in robotics for two years, and was named an HSF Scholar in 2025. I’ve always loved learning, and I try to pass on that same feeling when I tutor. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I’m patient, quick to respond, and always happy to adjust my approach or incorporate resources that students or parents find helpful.
