Hi! I’m Mahek, a UC Berkeley graduate with a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology. Over the years, I’ve come to understand that the most memorable and meaningful learning experiences aren’t always about the subject—they’re about the teacher. It was the instructors who were passionate, patient, and genuinely invested in their students’ success who left a lasting impact on me. That’s the kind of tutor I strive to be: approachable, adaptable, and committed to helping students thrive both academically and personally.
I have two years of experience as a high school teaching assistant, where I worked closely with students in Algebra and Pre-Calculus. I supported full classrooms and small focus groups, breaking down challenging concepts and helping students build confidence in their problem-solving skills. My tutoring style is structured but flexible: I like to introduce topics with relatable examples, provide clear, step-by-step instruction, and then give students the space to practice and apply what they’ve learned. I’m always ready to adjust my approach based on the student’s learning style, pace, and goals.
My goal is to make learning less overwhelming and more empowering. I welcome feedback and resources from students and families and value open communication as a key part of the learning process. Whether you're catching up, staying on track, or aiming ahead, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session—I’d love to help you succeed!
